So I've been eating not so well lately and I decided to do this sugar cleanse diet that's sort of the thing this year. The thing is I've been getting cravings for sweet food all the time and this is supposed to help with that and just make you feel better overall.  The longer you do it the better.

I have to say so far it's been a challenge not to consume anything with sugar in it.  Basically anything that comes packaged has sugar or sweetener.  But I'm used to having restrictive food choices -- I haven't eaten meat in at least 3 years.

Anyway I am on the version where fruit and starch is OK, but not any refined sugars, sugar substitutes like corn syrup or other chemicals.  And juice.  At least any juice with sugar in it.  I'll miss juice.

Wish me luck, haha.

Sugar cleanse has been pretty hard so far.  I've actually been consuming small amounts of sugar in one beverage each day to keep away headaches.  Yeah, it's pretty bad.  There is almost nothing in the house that doesn't require preparation, that doesn't have some kind of sugar in it.

But aside from all the difficulty the reduced amount of sugar has given me lots more energy and I feel a lot less bogged down.  I might make this a more long-term thing. hmm But first I have to get off sugar completely for at least a week, so no more sweetened drinks after tomorrow.

Didn't work out so well in the end, as it's pretty hard to avoid sugar when you're on the road, seeing as it's a main ingredient in road food.  Anyway I intend to try it again soon but I have been cutting back on sugar -- aside from those cupcakes I made on the 4th.

Unfortunately my stomach seems to hurt whenever I have a bunch of sugar now, which is awesome. irked
